Why is it important for your brand to celebrate Earth Month, and how are you celebrating throughout the month?

For Just Ice Tea, Earth Month is like our Super Bowl – it’s a moment when we get to celebrate all the different ways our brand is connected to the planet.  To start with, tea is one of the most eco-friendly crops in the world.  There is no irrigation in our tea gardens and minimal tillage because most of our tea bushes are several decades old – we pick fresh leaves and a few weeks later, after the leaves have regenerated, we pick fresh leaves from the same bushes!  Choosing organic isn’t just a preference—it’s a commitment to protect our planet, our farmers, and our tea drinkers. Throughout the month, we’re amplifying the message that organic farming helps maintain soil health, reduces pollution, and supports biodiversity. We’re also educating consumers on why organic matters and how small choices, like choosing organic tea, can have a big impact.  Every week throughout the month, we have been hosting fun and interactive events to spread the word about organic.  We hosted a dinner at NYC’s largest organic rooftop garden to educate dozens of media and social influencers about organic.  We also participated in New York’s Earth Day Festival at Union Square, spreading the word about our commitment to a more sustainable future.

Why is it important for your brand to be organic?

As our name, Just Ice Tea, suggests, we are committed to doing right by the people who grow and drink our tea as well as by the fragile ecosystems where our tea is grown.  Organic certification is the most commonly recognized third-party-verified seal that assures consumers our ingredients are grown without the use of persistent synthetic chemicals.  Organic is especially important with respect to tea because, unlike most produce, tea leaves are never rinsed.  So if any chemicals are sprayed on tea leaves, the first time they would be washed off is when hot water is poured on them, and all those chemicals would be washed into the drink!

What does organic do to make the planet healthier?

Organic farming helps protect the planet and the people who live on it by eliminating synthetic chemical pesticides and fertilizers. This keeps harmful chemicals out of our soil, water, and food, giving tea drinkers a cleaner, more delicious experience. Organic practices also boost soil health, conserve water, reduce pollution, and help preserve biodiversity by supporting thriving, balanced ecosystems. Together, these efforts add up to a healthier planet (and a healthier you)!

How can consumers celebrate Earth Month?

Consumers can celebrate Earth Month in many ways, from making simple sustainable swaps to supporting brands that prioritize the planet. Choosing organic products, reducing single-use plastics, recycling, and learning more about sustainable agriculture are great ways to start. Small actions—like enjoying a bottle of JUST ICE Tea—can contribute to a healthier planet, one sip at a time!
