Why is it important for your brand to celebrate Earth Month and how are you celebrating throughout the month?

For us, Earth Month isn’t a single event on the calendar; it is a reminder of something we think about every single day. Here at Gallant International, the Earth is the foundation of what we do. It provides the air we depend on, the food that nourishes us, and the organic cotton used in every product we make.

So, Earth Month allows us to pause, express gratitude, and invite more brands and companies into a conversation that we truly believe in.

What does your brand do to help create a healthier environment and to treat the planet more respectfully everyday?

Our work with the farmers is at the heart of everything we do. We work side by side with farmers, supplying them with non-GMO cotton and intercropping seeds, and taking on the costs of tools, training, and organic certification.

The way we see it, if you’re serious about caring for the planet, you have to start with the people who are already caring for it – the farmers.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about organic?

Organic and regenerative organic aren’t new trends. It didn’t start in a boardroom. It started in the field. Our ancestors practiced this for generations. They worked with seasonal plants, rotated their crops, let the soil breathe between harvests, and tended to the land as something living. Organic is a return to that wisdom that is now backed by modern science and rigorous certification standards.

Why is it important for your brand to be organic?

Over the years, we have seen conventional farming strip the soil of its nutrients, contaminate our waterways, and leave our soil vulnerable. Our work starts with the soil. The soil needs to stay healthy to sustain us and grow the fiber, like the organic cotton that we use on our products. Fiber and food need a diverse, living ecosystem to grow. Organic farming preserves that.

What does organic do to make the planet healthier?

Take a moment to think about what happens when a field that is supposed to grow our food and fiber is sprayed with synthetic pesticides. Those chemicals don’t stay put. They absorb into the plant, leach into the soil, and run off into rivers, lakes, and our drinking water. The farmers applying them breathe them in. Communities downstream live with them. Over time, the consequences for human health and ecosystem stability can be severe.

Organic farming takes a fundamentally different approach: no toxic chemicals, no GMOs. Instead, it draws on generations of agricultural knowledge combined with modern science to work with nature rather than against it. That’s a better deal for people, for the planet, and for the long-term viability of farming itself.

How can consumers celebrate Earth Month?

There’s a lot you can do, and every action counts. We don’t need a small number of people living perfectly eco-friendly lives. We need a lot of people doing small things consistently. Here are a few ways to start, depending on what you love:

  • If you love food — choose organic when you can, and look for products sourced from farms that practice organic agriculture. Your grocery cart is a vote in its own way.
  • If you love fashion — reach for natural fibers, especially those made from certified organic materials. Less plastic in your closet means less synthetic waste in the world.
  • If you’re heading outdoors this month — pick up 10 pieces of trash along the trail. Love the feeling? Keep going after Earth Month ends.
  • If you’re thinking about donating — consider supporting organizations fighting for legislation that protects farmers and promotes organic agriculture.
  • If you have 10 minutes — write to your representative. Tell them why you believe in supporting policies that help farmers transition to organic and regenerative practices. Your voice matters more than you might think.
