Why is it important for your brand to celebrate Earth Month and how are you celebrating throughout the month?

At MamaDoc Rx, caring for kids and caring for the planet go hand in hand. The same systems that impact environmental health also shape children’s long term health, from the air they breathe to the nutrients in their food.

Earth Month is a natural extension of our mission. We are celebrating by highlighting simple, realistic ways families can make more informed choices, whether that is choosing cleaner ingredients, reducing unnecessary additives, or supporting brands that prioritize sustainability. We are also using our platform to spotlight other like minded, sustainable brands that are doing this work well, because meaningful change happens faster when we support each other.

What does your brand do to help create a healthier environment and to treat the planet more respectfully everyday?

We start with ingredients. Our products are made with carefully selected, science backed nutrients and organic ingredients whenever possible, which helps reduce exposure to unnecessary pesticides and supports more sustainable farming practices.

We are intentional about what we include and what we leave out. Fewer fillers, no unnecessary additives, and no trendy ingredients that sound good but lack evidence. That not only supports kids’ health, it reduces excess waste in production.

Packaging is another big focus for us. Vitamins and supplements are notorious for excess packaging and plastic use. All of our bottles are made from post consumer recycled plastic or innovative biobottles designed to biodegrade, helping reduce our environmental footprint without compromising product quality.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about organic? This can be something that is often misunderstood.

Organic does not automatically mean healthier or more nutritious, but that does not mean it is not worthwhile.

This is a big one. In the health space, there is a common refrain that organic is not more nutritious, so just eat the fruits and vegetables. We understand where this comes from, because it is absolutely more important for people to eat healthy foods, even if organic is not accessible to them, rather than avoid them altogether.

But this leaves out some important nuance. From a nutrition standpoint, organic and conventional foods are often quite similar. However, organic farming reduces exposure to synthetic pesticides and can be better for the environment, which matters. It also shifts the conversation away from making organic more accessible and affordable, so people are not forced to choose in the first place.

It is not all or nothing. Small, intentional choices, especially for products you use often, are a great place to start.

Why is it important for your brand to be organic?

For us, it comes down to reducing unnecessary exposures during some of the most vulnerable stages of development.

Kids are not just small adults. Their bodies are still developing, and they have a higher exposure per body weight to environmental toxins. Choosing organic ingredients when possible is one way we can help limit that exposure while also supporting farming practices that are better for the planet they will inherit.

In the supplement space specifically, organic also offers an added layer of regulation and transparency in a market where both are often lacking. That matters to us as clinicians and as parents.

At the same time, we are realistic. Some vitamins and minerals are not available, or are very difficult to source, in organic forms, or would make the cost to consumers unrealistic. We are intentional about formulating certified organic products whenever possible, while taking a holistic approach to creating clean, sustainable, and fully transparent formulas.

What does organic do to make the planet healthier?

Organic farming practices are designed to work with natural systems rather than against them.

This can mean healthier soil, improved biodiversity, and reduced reliance on synthetic pesticides and fertilizers that can contaminate water and harm ecosystems. Healthier soil also plays a role in carbon storage, which is an important piece of the climate puzzle.

It is not a perfect system, but it is a meaningful step toward more sustainable agriculture.

How can consumers celebrate Earth Month?

Start small and stay realistic.

Choose organic for the foods that tend to have higher pesticide exposure. Reduce food waste where you can. Pay attention to ingredient lists, not just marketing claims. Support brands that are transparent about what they are doing and where they still need to improve.

And maybe most importantly, teach kids early that caring for their health and caring for the planet are connected. Those habits stick.
